Mailed Runner Packets
For runners who choose to have their packets delivered by U.S. mail. . .
and U.S. Mail paper-registrations must be RECEIVED by Wednesday, June
3rd at midnight. If registrations are received after midnight on Wednesday, June
3rd, packet preparation & home delivery before race day is not
Participation by teams, either walking(3K) or running(5K) is encouraged. TEAMS must choose to compete either by Team SIZE or Runner's TIME.
a. SIZE teams will be scored by total number of runners on each team. SIZE registrations can be from the 5k or 3k.
b. TIME teams will be scored by adding the time score of the best five finishers by age-gender categories only in the 5k. Lowest score wins. See the
Team Scoring Rules.
Runner packets for an entire team may qualify to be picked up by the team captain, as follows:
a. Runners must register online,
b. The team must have 15 or more registered runners,
c. Team captain must call or email the event director to schedule a day & time for pick-up. This communication must be acknowledged by the event director listed above.
d. All of the above must happen before Wednesday, June
3 at noon (CDT).

Run timing for competitive 5k runners will be done using D-tags and electronic monitoring mats. Each 5k runner must remove the D-tag from his/her race bib, bend the D-tag into a circle and attach to his/her shoe laces. Do not fold flat.

Saturday, June 20, 2015 is the 16th annual Dad's Day 5K, 3K and 1K kid's Run/Walk in downtown Houston, TX.
The event is hosted by the TexUs Too, the Houston Chapter of Us Too International, the international grassroots, registered 501(c)(3) non-profit prostate cancer education and support network. There are 320 support group chapters worldwide, providing men and their families with free information, materials and peer-to-peer support so they can make informed choices about detection, treatment options and coping with ongoing survivorship. The organization was founded in 1990 by five men who had been treated for prostate cancer.
On Race Day, survivors, their families and friends, and local businesses come together to achieve two goals:
• Raise funds for local education and support
• Increase awareness about prostate cancer
Celebrate Fathers Day weekend by participating, volunteering or contributing to the cause. Honor your dad, brother, son, uncle, grandfather and friends.
Start and Finish on Prairie Street under the Wortham Arch. The course is on flat, concrete, city streets, USAT&F sanctioned and certified road race, TX08027ETM. To satisfy City of Houston code and insurance requirements, no skates, roller blades, bikes or animals are permitted on the race course.

Medical aid will be available. Remember to drink plenty of fluids before and during the race. Water stations will be along the course. We take reasonable precautions in planning a safe event. Participation is at your own risk.
Post Race Activities
It's all about Families and Fun !!
Lots of fun, food and music – along with the presentation of awards and door prize drawings. Refreshments are served on Fish Plaza on the Texas side of the Wortham Theater.
5K Timed Run: (electronic timing by D-tag)
Trophies to the following winners:
Top male and female overall
1st place male and female Master (40-54)
1st place male and female Senior (55+)
Top 3 prostate cancer survivors
Commemorative Medals to the following male and female winners:
1st, 2nd & 3rd places in each age group: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29,
30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.
No duplicate awards given.
Teams: Awards will be given to the top three largest teams and top three fastest teams. Awards will be mailed to the team captains. Team rules are online at
Kids 1K: All kids(12 and under) who finish will WIN a commemorative medal. Trophies for the top 3 kids. Plus all kids will receive a super hero cape instead of a t-shirt!
Door Prizes: After the race, tear-off the strip from the bottom of race bib, and drop in one of the four blue buckets around the Wortham Theater. All finishers (5k, 3k and 1k) are eligible to win one of several fantastic door prizes, given out during the awards ceremony. Must be present to win
One family photo will be mailed to one person in the photo free of charge. Cox Sports Photography will be photographing runners along the course. Their photos will be on display for purchase at www.coxsportsphotos.com by Thursday, June

Each runner in the 5K and 3K will receive a technical, gender specific t-shirt. Shirt size is not guaranteed at packet pickup on race day.
If extra t-shirts are available, they may be obtained on race day for a donation of $10 each. Some previous year's t-shirts are available; they may be obtained on race day for a donation of $5 each.
